One of the books I'll remember for the rest of my life - and I've read many!

Homeworld, book one of the "To The Stars" trilogy, was amazingly differant from any other book by Harry that I have ever read. I read it first about a year back. It has the flavor of his technique, but dont be misled- this is no comedy.

Jan Kulozik is an engineer, and a good one, in a future where you are either aristocracy, or nothing. A world where records of the past have been cleaned up and nicefied, and the rich are the only ones with decent lives.

Going on a vacation with a woman one day, sailing at night, he is dumped in the water, only to be rescued by a submarine form a mysterious country called "Israel" where they have a strange form of government called "democracy". He is informed that he has been living a lie, that the world isnt what it seems, that people are trying to fight against oppression, etc.

Jan is convinced to help the Israelies and joins the revolution. Because of his status in society, and the his brohter-in-law is the head of Security, he is quickly accepted. Disaster falls, however, and leads Jan to in the end be trancferred to another planet, where the second novel, Wheelworld comes in.

Wheelworld: A world where the sun rises and sets once every 4 years. The planet is one large farming community that travels south or north alternately to stay with the night. However, the ships havent come on time, the harvest has already been reaped, and it's time to go south. But the Road is getting old, and things are beginning to break down, and the ships continue to not come, and only an off-worlder like Jan can save the day, the crops, and the people, before the terrible sun bakes then to death. But can he do it with the entire world, all the people, technology, and universe seemingly wanting him dead? Note: this takes place several years after Homeworld.

Starworld, the final book in the trilogy, takes place right after Wheelworld. The rebellion has taken over all the colonies, and now all that is left is Earth. The problem is, Earth is virtually impenetrable, and the rebellion has only so many fighting forces, or workable ships. They do, however, have an ace up their sleeve, aS Jan once more works wonders, this time in America, then back to England, and actually begins to work for his Brother-in-law, Smythe, the head of Security, in an attempt to bring the revolution to the planet. But all is not what it seems, and there is a traitor in the revolution's mists. The clock is ticking, and if Jan cannot get to the Revolution forces in time with vital information about when to strike, along with uprisings all over Earth, disaster could occur, and the universe would be at the mercy once more of the aristocrats. Will Jan succeed, and return back home to his wife, or possibly stay and live the ife of Riley with unlimited money and access, or will he fail, and all of humanity once again falls underneath the tyrranical grip of the rich? Read, and find out for yourself.

This is a great book. It has good advice for techers and some amusing stories. This book is very enjoyable even if your not a teacher. I am a High School Chemistry teacher and I have recommended this book to the rest of the faculty at my school. I use the advice in this book all the time. I would recommend everyone buy this book!

Excellent book for someone interested in any field related to real estate, architecture or construction. Very, very helpful in becoming familiar with zoning, land and construction of different types of homes. Lots of pictures and diagrams. Not just a bunch of reading.

Writer-illustrator Kenny Harrison has taken a sport that is associated with theatrical violence and turned it into a gentle tale with a sweet message. Kids in the kindergarten-first grade range should find this a fun book to read with their parents. But grownups should watch out: You'll probably get tickled.

This is the best book on meditation I'ver ever read. If you've ever been interested in the practice of meditation, but also have the kind of mind that likes to know how and why things are working or not working in your body, this is the book for you.

Very intelligently written, full of profound ideas and easy-to-use exercises to get you going, this is the key to get you improving your health, well-being and enjoyment of life through meditation.

Eric Harrison describes in detail the stress-response processes that go on in your body causing nearly all of our pain and illness and how learning to meditate can head those stressors off at the pass, so to speak, and keep you healthy, happy and in a balanced state of mind and body.

I highly recommend this book to anyone who is sick, stressed, or for any reason feeling their enjoyment of life isn't where it could be.

When the editorial review states that the book is 'perfect for
beginners', the reader can believe that it is true. I have searched
through dozens of "How to Draw and Paint" books designed for
beginners and have been painfully disappointed. This book is
delightful to read, easy to understand, and visually a delight to
behold. As an adult, it is refreshing to find a book that helps the
beginner in the quest for artistic vision but that stimulates the
intellect as well. Thank you Hazel Harrison.

This is an excellent first hand account from a missionary doctor's wife living in the Ivory Coast of Africa.

A definite must read.

This is not a book for the weak of heart or mind, and requires steady and multiple readings. But there is much in here to learn, as -Identity and Control- convincingly disposes of traditional sociological theory and takes issues of "structure" to new heights of abstraction. This is not to say that this book is "pie in the sky" theory. On the contrary, everything that White says should be applicable to your own life. Much of this book is architectonic, which is to say that White intends to come up with a new (possibly more 'scientific') vocabulary or vision for how we think of the "social." But there is a great deal in here which is quite pragmatic, if not political. Critical theorists should be especially interested in this book as it puts a concrete face to abstract questions of reification (what White calls blocking action). Through White's frame social domination is reconceptualized in terms of position in networks, types of social ties, styles of maneuvering, and the ability to tell persuasive stories. White is also good on the other side of agency, and provides many important leads concerning how all of us can anneal the social structures in which we are embedded, shake things up, and decouple from the shackles of routinized behavior. Certainly not a leisurely read, but if you want a good test of your intellect (one which challenges the very basic assumptions of who YOU are), give it a shot.
